Machecoul
Machecoul is a former commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Machecoul-Saint-Même.
Its 5,732 inhabitants are called Machecoulais. It was the site of the opening of the uprising of the Vendée, in 1793.
