M2 (Sydney)

The M2 is a route in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It links Artarmon to Bella Vista. It consists of two separately named motorways, the M2 Hills Motorway and the Lane Cove Tunnel. The M2 route replaces the motorway sections of what was known as Metroad 2 from 1993 to 2013, with the non-motorway sections replaced by the A2 route (made up of Windsor Road and Old Windsor Road).

M2 (Copenhagen)

M2 is a line of the Copenhagen Metro, colored yellow on the map. It runs from Vanløse to Lufthavnen through the center of Copenhagen, sharing track with the M1 from Vanløse to Christianshavn. The line was built along with M1 as part of the redevelopment of Ørestad. The principle of the line was passed in 1992, and construction commenced in 1998. The line opened in several stages between 2002 and 2007. It is owned by Metroselskabet and operated by Metro Service, and operates with a headway between four and twenty minutes.

The line is long, and runs in a tunnel through the city center between Lindevang and Amager Strand. It connects the eastern borough of Vanløse and the municipality of Frederiksberg to the city center of Copenhagen, as well as the western parts of Amager and Copenhagen Airport. It provides transfer to the S-train at three stations and to DSB trains at two stations.

M2 (Brisbane)

The M2 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, is a major motorway route and southern bypass of Brisbane. It connects the Warrego Highway A2 at Brassall to the M1 at Eight Mile Plains via the following corridors:

  • M2 Northern Ipswich Bypass ( Warrego Highway) from Brassall to Dinmore
  • M2 Ipswich Motorway from Dinmore to Gailes
  • M2 Logan Motorway from Gailes to Drewvale

M2 (railcar)

The M2 is a series of 244 electric multiple unit cars produced for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Connecticut Department of Transportation that run on the New Haven Line (then part of Penn Central, now part of Metro North). Built primarily by General Electric in a consortium with the Budd Company, Canadian Vickers and Avco between 1972 and 1977, the cars were initially branded as Cosmopolitans. Final assembly of the M2 cars using Budd or Vickers bodies was completed at GE's Transportation Division in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Both the model and brand name followed the pattern set up by the M1/M1A series (the Metropolitans) in use on the Long Island Rail Road (M1) and on Metro-North's Hudson and Harlem lines (M1A). In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the M2 design was licensed by the MTA and ConnDOT to two other companies to produce follow-up series.

All cars were equipped with GE 1259 DC motors with a rated output of on all axles.

The M2 MSBS was the second French submarine-launched ballistic missile. In French, MSBS is the abbreviation for Mer-Sol Balistique Stratégique, or Sea-Ground Strategic Ballistic Missile. It has two stages. It was deployed on the Redoutable-class SNLEs (Sous-marin Nucléaire Lanceur d'Engins) (Device-launching Nuclear Submarine) or SSBNs from 1974 to 1978, replacing the M1 MSBS. The M2 was itself replaced by the M20 MSBS beginning in 1977.

M2 (Mazda)

M2 Incorporated was a former automobile manufacturer and group company of the Mazda Motor Corporation. The company has existed from 1991 to 1995 and was also known under its nickname Mazda Two. The official brand name was M2. M2 was responsible for the development and the production of vehicle parts, such as bodykits. The headquarters was inside the M2 Building in Tokyo, Japan. The showrooms of complete vehicles was inside the affiliated Setagaya Matsudarotari (Mazda Rotary) Building. The company was closed in 1995 and was a victim of the financial crisis of 1995. The vehicles of the brand were produced in only small numbers, making them a high priority for collectors. All known M2 vehicles are currently registered in Japan.

M2 (Istanbul Metro)

M2, officially referred to as the M2 Yenikapı – Hacıosman line , is a , 16-station rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro. It is colored light green on the maps and route signs. The M2 operates between Hacıosman in southern Sarıyer to Yenikapı in south-central Fatih on the historic peninsula of Istanbul. Shuttle trains run from Sanayi to Seyrantepe to Türk Telekom Arena. The M2 line has a total length of and has a daily ridership of 320,000 making it the busiest and second longest line of the Istanbul Metro system. Only the M1 line has a longer route length.
