Wikipedia
In computing and systems design a loosely coupled system is one in which each of its components has, or makes use of, little or no knowledge of the definitions of other separate components. Sub-areas include the coupling of classes, interfaces, data, and services.
Loose coupling describes the way components of a system are related. It may mean:
- Loose coupling in computing, where each of the software components has, or makes use of, little or no knowledge of the definitions of other components.
- Karl E. Weick#Loose coupling, where ties between people and groups in an organisation are not as strong as those recognised by theories of bureaucracy.
- Loose coupling in electronics, where an inductively coupled circuit has a low coupling coefficient.
Usage examples of "loose coupling".
He carefully wrapped the tape around the loose coupling, winding it around in the big loops as if he was bracing a sprain.
The structure swayed a little under the loose coupling of the clay pellets, but it stood, eight cubes in an inverted cross, a double cross, as the four additional cubes stuck out in four directions.
