Loose Cannons is a 1990 comedy film, written by Richard Matheson, Richard Christian Matheson and Bob Clark, who also directed the film. The film is about a hard-nosed cop who is teamed up with a detective with multiple-personality disorder to uncover a long-lost Nazi sex tape, featuring Adolf Hitler, which would jeopardize the political future of the German chancellor-elect.

The film stars Dan Aykroyd, Gene Hackman, and Dom DeLuise. The theme song features vocals by Katey Sagal and Aykroyd. The film was released by Tri-Star Pictures on February 9, 1990 and, upon its release, was a critical and financial disaster, bringing in only $5.5 million worldwide on a $15 million budget.

Loose Cannons is a 2010 Italian comedy film directed by Ferzan Özpetek. Özpetek also wrote the script, with the help of Ivan Cotroneo, while Domenico Procacci served as a producer. The film stars Riccardo Scamarcio, Alessandro Preziosi, Nicole Grimaudo, Lunetta Savino, Ennio Fantastichini and Ilaria Occhini.

Loose Cannons premiered on 13 February 2010 at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. The following month, it was theatrically released in Italy, Switzerland and Turkey. In the United States, the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on 28 April 2010, where it won the Special Jury Prize. It would subsequently be released at the Seattle International Film Festival, Provincetown International Film Festival and Palm Springs International Film Festival. Loose Cannons was highly praised by film critics.
