Larchmont (Metro-North station)

Larchmont is a Metro-North Railroad station on the New Haven Line in Larchmont, New York. It is mostly served by local trains originating or terminating at Stamford. The New England Thruway (Interstate 95) runs alongside the station, underneath a parking ramp for rail commuters. Larchmont Station was originally built by the New York and New Haven Railroad and was rebuilt by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad twice during the 20th century; First in the 1920s in order to facilitate a separate New York, Westchester and Boston Railway station, and again in the mid-1950s for construction of the New England Thruway.

West of the station, a small NYNH&H yard used to exist close to the New Rochelle-Larchmont border. As of August 2006, weekday commuter ridership was 3,648, and there are 1,015 parking spots.

It is the busiest Metro-North station between Stamford and New Rochelle. In 2001, average weekday inbound boardings were 3,584.

Larchmont (Worcester, Massachusetts)

Larchmont is a historic house at 36 Butler Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The two story wood frame house was built in 1858 as a country house for Ransom Taylor, one of the city's largest landowners in the latter half of the 19th century. It is a rare surviving Italianate villa, of a type that once dotted the hills of Worcester, and is one of the finest Italianate houses in the city. The house may have been designed by Boyden & Ball; there is documentary evidence suggestive of this, which is supported by stylistic analysis. The building's original octagonal cupola has been removed, and the house has been sided in aluminum, although its decorative woodwork has been retained. The porte cochere is also an addition.

The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
