Ladehammeren

Ladehammeren is a small mountain on the Lade peninsula in the municipality of Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is just south of the Korsvika area. The highest point of Ladehammeren, called Våttahaugen, is above sea level. It was a cairn mountain back in the Viking Age. Some people believe that there was a small lighthouse at Ladehammeren in 1658.

In the 18th century, there were plans about building a fort at Ladehammeren, but that never happened. From 1848, the military used Ladehammern to store gunpowder. The Germans used these buildings during World War II, and built a fortification.

In 2000, a monument of peace was built at Våttahaugen. The monument was made by the German artist Rolf Schaffner.
