Köhlbrand
Köhlbrand is an anabranch of the Unterelbe river in the Port of Hamburg, Germany.
The branch emerged during floods in the 15th century. Now the complete Süderelbe waterflow is redirected through the Köhlbrand, which is a main access to the Container Terminal Altenwerder.
It is bridged by the Köhlbrand Bridge, both named after the Sea captain and famous pirate hunter, Ditmar Koel (ca 1500–1563), who was mayor of Hamburg, Germany 1548–1563.
