Kiwicha (Peru)

Kiwicha ( Quechua for Amaranthus caudatus) or K'iwicha (Quechua for liver) (hispanicized spellings Quehuicha, Quehuisha, Queshihua, Quihuisha) is a mountain in the Ch'ila mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about high (according to another source ). It is located in the Arequipa Region, Caylloma Province, Lari District, west of the mountain Mismi.

The river Qallumayu originates south of Kiwicha, between the small lakes Tikllaqucha (Quechua for "two-colored lake", hispanicized Ticllacocha) and Hatunqucha (Quechua for "big lake", hispanicized Jatuncocha) near the little village Kiwicha (Quihnisha). It flows to the south and ends in the Colca River .
