What is "kishtwaria"

The Kisthwaria are a Muslim Rajputs clan, found in Kishtwar District, in the Jammu and Kashmir territory. They are clan of Chandravanshi Rajputs, who form part of the Jasrotia tribe. The Kishtwaria were once rulers of the Kisthwar region, which was one of the six Rajput Hill States, in what is now Jammu and Kashmir, where the rulers had converted to Islam.

The Kishtwaria have both Hindu and Muslim branches.
