Khampat
Khampat is a town in the Sagaing Region in western Myanmar. The town has about 73,200 inhabitants.
The Khampat village is constructed from ancient times about 750 AD. The Khampat means Kham (Steep slope) and Pat (Begin or start). The Zo/ Zomi folk tales says "Our ancestral of Zo people/Zomi were come down from Tibet. The peoples were march along the lowland. They arrived about the Khampat. They construct shelter home and they viewed the mountain is nearer and said "start hill" then the village is called 'Khampat'." In that time the government didn't record officially.
