The Khalil is a Pashtun tribe son of Ghoryakhel primarily living in Pakistan with some members in Nangarhar, Herat, Ghazni , Qandahar of Afghanistan and in the Peshawar valley. To the west and south-west of Daudzai lie the settlements of the Khalils. GhoryaKhel settled around Peshawar and the dividing center between the Khalil and Mohmand area is the first village after the Bara stream to the Eastwords claimed both by the Khalil and Mohmand tribe is "Sheikhan". Ghoryakhel has four sons Daulatyar, Khalil, Chamkani, Zeerani. There are eight main sub-divisions in the Khalil tribe.,

Khalil or Khalil Lewis is an R&B vocal quartet based in Johannesburg, South Africa where he started his music career but was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Their debut album "Let Me In" sold over 50,000 copies, earning the CD platinum status in South Africa. All four members of the band were born and raised in Temba, "Pretoria", and grew up in the church.
The band formed in 1995 and was later discovered by Carl Eaton (manager of South African stars Mandoza and Ernie Smith, Pitch Black Afro). In 2000 the band released their debut EP, Khalil, featuring the smash hit “Mama Said,” which quickly made it to Chart Breaker of the Week and #25 on YFM’s Top 100 singles for the year. The EP also spawned the hit single “Feel the Vibe” (featuring Loyiso), which was on Metro FM’s Local Top 20 for more than 12 weeks. The following year the group was nominated for two Metro FM awards for Best Duo/Group and Best R&B, and were featured in Cosmopolitan and Drum magazines, among others.
In 2005 Khalil signed to the David Gresham Record Company, a large indie label in South Africa. Their debut album, Let Me In, features harmonious rhythms, intelligently naughty lyrics, and tight production work. Guest rappers and singers include Ziggy, Aluta, Ill Scientist, and Capsolys. The album’s first single, “Reed Dancin’,” hit # 1 on South Africa’s FM Top 20 in 2005. in 2006 the album was released by LoveCat Music in the U.S.A.
Khalil has performed with international jazz and R&B superstars such as Kenny Latimore, Chanté Moore, Erykah Badu, and George Duke. In 2005 the group was nominated for two South African Music Awards, for Best R&B and Best Joined Composition.

Khalil Amir Sharieff (born November 22, 1994), known by the stage name Khalil, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and rapper from Sacramento, California.
In 2008, he worked under the auspices of L.A. Reid to record some material in Florida after being discovered on YouTube. He was signed the same year to Def Jam Recordings, on the Teen Island label that was part of the music industry's response to "seize on the opportunities created by a phenomenon" of Justin Bieber, and rather than focus on hit single, his manager was working to "developing him into a long-term artist." While signed with Def Jam, he recorded a few singles, but did not release an album.
The 2010 track "Girlfriend Ringtone" spent 13 weeks on Billboard's "Bubbling Under" chart but did not break onto the main Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

On February 15, 2012, he released a collaborative mixtape with Lil Twist called 3 Weeks in Miami. On June 20, 2013, Khalil premiered his video for "Stars" on his VEVO account. The video "Hey Lil Mama" was released in early 2011.
On January 18th. 2016 he released a single called 'Simple' off his upcoming EP 'A Long Way From 916' later renamed as 'Misunderstood'
