It is one of the five Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments of Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency. Karhal is surrounded by Saifai, Jaswantnagar Tehsils towards South and Mainpuri Tehsil towards North. Sirsaganj, Etawah, Shikohabad and Bharthana are the nearby cities to Karhal.
