What is "kanata--carleton"

Kanata—Carleton is a federal electoral district in Ottawa, Ontario.

Kanata—Carleton was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for 19 October 2015. The new riding absorbed most of the portion of Carleton—Mississippi Mills located in Ottawa, except for the portion south of Highway 7/ Highway 417 that will shift to Carleton. A small fraction came from Nepean—Carleton surrounding the Bridlewood neighbourhood.
