Kaiser is the German word for " emperor". Like the Bulgarian, Serbian and Russian Czar it is directly derived from the Roman emperors' title of Caesar, which in turn is derived from the personal name of a branch of the gens (clan) Julia, to which Gaius Julius Caesar, the forebear of the first imperial family, belonged. Although the British monarchs styled " Emperor of India" were also called " Kaisar-i-Hind" in Hindi and Urdu, this word, although ultimately sharing the same Latin origin, is derived from the (kaisar), not the German Kaiser.

In English, the term 'the Kaiser' is usually reserved for the emperors of the German Empire and the emperors of the Austrian Empire. During the First World War, the term the Kaiser—especially as applied to Wilhelm II of Germany—gained considerable knowledge in English-speaking countries.

Kaiser is a lunar crater. It lies in the crater-riddled terrain in the southern part of the Moon's near side. The crater is nearly attached to the northeast rim the slightly larger crater Fernelius, and the two are separated by an irregular patch of ground only a few kilometers wide. To the northwest of Kaiser lies Nonius, a crater remnant.

The rim of this crater is heavily worn from impact erosion, and the features have been generally softened and rounded. Parts of the southern inner wall has become incised, and the elongated satellite crater Kaiser A lies across the eastern rim. Kaiser is a Thoroughbred racehorse who won the New Zealand Derby in 1979. He was trained by Neville Atkins and ridden in the 1979 Derby by Alwin Tweedie.

Like Ruling Lad, who won the race the following year, Kaiser was a son of Ruling, who himself was a son of Bold Ruler.

His Derby winning time, 2:29.42, was at the time the second-fastest in the history of the race.

Kaiser Crater is a crater in the Noachis quadrangle of Mars, located at 46.6° S and 340.9° W. It is 207 km wide and was named after Frederik Kaiser, a Dutch astronomer (1808–1872). Debris flows have been observed on some of the dunes in this crater. Some researchers believe that they may be caused by liquid water. Liquid water could be stable for short periods of time in the summer in the southern hemisphere of Mars. These gully-like debris flows may be due to small amounts of ice melting.

The further etymology is unclear.

The name is not especially frequent (ca. 0.05% in Germany), but it is still ranked 41st in Germany ). Regions in Germany where it is more frequent are central Germany and the southern half of the Black Forest area, and to a lesser extent Southern Germany. It is also used in Austria and the Czech Republic.

Other names with the same origin are Kayser and Keiser; Keyser is more common as a Dutch spelling, and Qaisar is an Arabic version.

Kaiser (, ; also Kaizar; born 18 February 1961) is a Burmese singer-songwriter who was most popular in the late 1970s and mid-1980s. The ethnic Rakhine singer was arguably the most successful male singer in Myanmar in the early 1980s. His nonthreatening rockabilly songs were popular with the young and the old alike. He collaborated with leading songwriters of the day like Saw Bwe Mhu, Naing Myanmar, Soe Lwin Lwin, Maung Maung Zan, and Thukhamein Hlaing. His most successful songs were written by Naing Myanmar and Saw Bwe Mhu.

Kaiser was also a successful songwriter, who penned many commercially successful songs for top singers of the day, including May Sweet, and Maykhala, his wife in the mid-1980s. Most of his songs were of his own creation although he also sampled and covered Western rock-and-roll hits, most notably those by the Beatles. He calls the Kissapanadi Hlaing Than album whose title track was about the Kaladan River in Rakhine State, his most satisfying track. He co-wrote the song with Maung Maung Zan, also an ethnic Rakhine.
