Kadhalan

Kadhalan (English: Lover) is a 1994 Indian Tamil romantic thriller film written and directed by S. Shankar and produced by K. T. Kunju. The film stars Prabhu Deva and Nagma in the lead roles, while Raghuvaran, Girish Karnad and Vadivelu play other pivotal roles. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by A. R. Rahman. Kadhalan was dubbed in Hindi as Humse Hai Muqabala and in Telugu as Premikudu. The film received positive reviews from critics and enjoyed huge commercial success upon its release in September 1994. It won several recognitions and honours, including four National Film Awards. The film was noted for its clever use of expensive CGI supervised by S. T. Venky (in song and dance picturisation) similar to the Hollywood blockbuster The Mask.

Kadhalan (soundtrack)

Kadhalan is the soundtrack to the 1994 Tamil film of the same name, directed by Shankar. The soundtrack, released as Kadhalan: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, features 9 songs composed by A. R. Rahman and lyrics penned by Vairamuthu, Vaali, Shankar and Thirikudarasappa Kavirayar. Owing to the immense national popularity of the song Mukkabla, the soundtrack was subsequently dubbed in Hindi as Humse Hai Muqabala and in Telugu as Premikudu. Lyrics for this versions were written by P. K. Mishra and Rajashri respectively.
