What is "jatara"

Jatara is a town and a nagar panchayat in Tikamgarh district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Jatara Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. This constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes since 2008, following the delimitation of the legislative assembly constituencies. It came into existence in 1951, as one of the 48 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile Vindhya Pradesh state.
