Jaleswar

Jaleswar (in Oriya:ଜଳେଶ୍ବର) is a small town that belongs to Balasore district of state Odisha and is adjacent to border of West Bengal. 'Jaleswar' town is a notified area committee (NAC). And also Jaleswar block (consists of 144 villages and Jaleswar town (NAC)) forms a state constituency along with Balipal Block.

Jaleswar (Sl. No.: 35) is a Vidhan Sabha constituency of Balasore district, Odisha.

Area of this constituency include Jaleswar, Jaleswar block and 11 GPs (Natakata, Purusottampur, Kulida, Santoshpur, Raghunathpur, Chormara, Singla, Paunsakulli, Tadada, Putura and Nabara) of Basta block.

In 2009 election, Indian National Congress candidate Debi Prasanna Chand defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Aswini Kumar Patra by a margin of 6,304 votes.
