If I Were You is a novel by P.G. Wodehouse, first published in the United States on September 3, 1931 by Doubleday, Doran, New York, and in the United Kingdom on September 25, 1931 by Herbert Jenkins, London.

Prior to its publication in book form the novel was serialized in four issues (April–July 1931) of The American Magazine.

The story concerns the romantic troubles of young Anthony Bryce, Earl of Droitwich.

Engaged to be married to Violet Waddington, heiress to 'Waddington's 97 Soups', Tony finds his life thrown into chaos when his old nurse comes to pay him a visit, revealing a long-kept family secret. The film was released in China on Chinese New Year. The film is based on Biànshēn nánnǚ, a romantic novel of the same name, by the popular youth author Zi Yue.
