Hornbug \Horn"bug`\, n. (Zo["o]l.) A large nocturnal beetle of the genus Lucanus (as Lucanus capreolus, and Lucanus dama), having long, curved upper jaws, resembling a sickle. The grubs are found in the trunks of old trees.
