Holanagadde

Holanagadde is a village in the Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka, India. It is on the west coast beach of the Arabian sea. The main communities that live in the village are havyakas, namdharis, harikanths, patgars with a few Christian, Konkani and Mukhri families. The village has a primary school which is more than 100 years old. Rice, Cashew Nut, Beetel nut and Coconut are the main crops. Carpenting and agriculture are the major occupations in the area.

Has fisheries industries and rice mills. Notable personalities like M.R. Hegde, Dr. L.S. Bhat, Dr. Anil Hegde were born in this place. Famous eateries like kutti angadi Subraya Naik angadi are worth visiting. Must visit Nene beach is popular as well. Aghanashini is located 15 km north. Across the Aghanashini river, Gokarna (a Hindu pilgrimage site) is found 6 km away. Kumta is located 5 km south.
