What is "heterosquare"

n. An ''n''-by-''n'' arrangement of ''n''² numbers such that the numbers in each row, in each column and along both diagonals all have different sums.

A heterosquare of order n is an arrangement of the integers 1 to n in a square, such that the rows, columns, and diagonals all sum to different values. In contrast, magic squares have all these sums equal.

There are no heterosquares of order 2, but heterosquares exist for any order n ≥ 3.
