What is "hesperiphona"

Hesperiphona is a genus of grosbeaks in the family Fringillidae (the true finches). This genus is native to the New World. It contains the following species:

• Evening grosbeak - Hesperiphona vespertina
• Hooded grosbeak - Hesperiphona abeillei

The species in this genus are sometimes included in the genus Coccothraustes along with the hawfinch, but the International Ornithologists' Union considers the two genera separate.
