Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Viana Lima (born 29 May 1985), known as Hernanes , is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Serie A club Juventus as a central midfielder.
He began his career at São Paulo FC, where he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2007 and 2008. In August 2010 he joined Italian side Lazio, whom he helped win the Coppa Italia in 2013. He transferred to Internazionale in January 2014 for €20 million, and subsequently moved to Juventus in 2015, where he won the domestic double in his first season with the club.
Hernanes has earned over 25 caps for the Brazil national football team since 2008. He won a bronze medal at that year's Olympics, and was also part of their squads which won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and came fourth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He is nicknamed Il Profeta (The Prophet).
