Herberger's

Herberger's is a regional department store chain founded in 1927 in Osakis, Minnesota, United States. Herberger's operates 41 stores in nine states; more than one third of them are in Minnesota, where the chain maintained its headquarters for much of its history. The chain was sold in the late 1990s amid growing consolidation in the department store industry, while continuing to operate as a separate nameplate and later sharing a corporate division headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with Carson Pirie Scott, Bergner's and other regional chains by the close of the century. Since early 2006, Herberger's has operated as the Minnesota/ Great Plains regional component of York, Pennsylvania-based The Bon-Ton, a major department store operator throughout much of the northern United States.
