Wikipedia Heptylparaben Heptylparaben (heptyl p-hydroxybenzoate) is a compound with formula CH(CHOHCOO). It is a paraben which is the heptyl ester of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. As a food additive it has E number E209, and is used as a preservative.
