Hendaye

Hendaye ( Basque: Hendaia) is the most south-westerly town and commune in France, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department and the French Basque Country. The town is a popular seaside tourist resort by the Atlantic coast, the Côte Basque, on the right bank of the Bidassoa which marks the France–Spain border.

The town has three distinguishable parts: 'town' which stretches from Saint Vincent's church to the area around the SNCF terminus and the industrial zone, 'la plage' the quarter that borders the beach by the ocean and 'les hauteurs' (the heights) the villas and camping sites on the hills between and above the two.
