HeatSticks, a electronic "heat-not-burn" tobacco product, is marketed under the " Marlboro brand" by Philip Morris International (PMI). Introduction of the product was announced June 26, 2014 in Richmond, Virginia. Initial marketing is planned for cities in Italy and Japan. HeatSticks are manufactured at two plants in Italy. Philip Morris has projected sales of tens of billions and profits of hundreds of millions.

In 2007 PMI launched Heatbar. The electronic smoking device heated cigarettes without burning them.1 The former product Heatbar is no longer sold.2
