Hafslund is a borough located east of the city centre in the city of Sarpsborg, Norway,
Before 1992, Hafslund was a part of Skjeberg municipality. The name Hafslund, which is composed of Hafr, the Old Norse name for husband and lundr meaning grove. There has been a permanent settlement at Hafslund for over 5000 years.
Hafslund ASA is a Norwegian power company. The company owns the power grid and district heating in Oslo as well as nine hydroelectric power plants. Hafslund is the largest owner of power grids and the largest end-user seller of electricity in Norway. Though being listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, the City of Oslo retains a 53.7 percent ownership in Hafslund and the Finnish state-owned company Fortum owns 34.1 percent.
