Godfather is a 1991 Indian Malayalam comedy- Drama film written and directed by Siddique-Lal and produced by Swargachitra Appachan. The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of N. N. Pillai, Thilakan, Mukesh, Kanaka, Jagadish, Innocent, Philomina, Siddique, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Sankaradi, and Bheeman Raghu.

It was one of the highest grossing Malayalam film of 1991. It won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Popular Film. The film was remade into Telugu as Peddarikam (1992) directed A. M. Rathnam starring Jagapati Babu and Sukanya. In 2004, Priyadarshan remade the film in Hindi as Hulchul. It was also remade in Kannada as Pandavaru with Jaggesh and Ramkumar. Film ran for 414 days in a theatre in Trivandrum.

Godfather is a 2012 Indian Kannada Language action thriller film directed by cinematographer-turned- director Sethu Sriram starring Upendra and Soundarya Jayamala in the lead roles. Catherine Tresa also plays a prominent role and Bhumika Chawla makes a special appearance.

The film is remake of the 2006 Tamil blockbuster Varalaru that starred Ajith Kumar, Asin Thottumkal and Kanika Subramaniam in the lead roles. Internationally acclaimed composer A. R. Rahman, who composed music for the original Tamil version, is the composer of the songs, while Rajesh Ramanath composed the background score.

The film was released on 27 July 2012 and opened to a large number of highly positive reviews from the critics. Godfather is the soundtrack album of the 2012 Kannada drama film of the same name, directed by cinematographer-turned-director Sethu Sriram, starring actor Upendra in a triple role. The soundtrack album consists of eight songs composed by Academy Award winning composer A. R. Rahman, and lyrics penned by K. Kalyan, Devappa Hassan and Kaviraj. The background score of the film is composed by Rajesh Ramanath. Rahman retained most of the tracks from the original version, which also featured musical score by him.
