"#GetItRight" is a pop- funk song, and lyrically discusses sexual desire. Upon its release, it received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who appreciated its overall production. Cyrus performed "#GetItRight" for the first time at the KIIS-FM Jingle Ball, held in Los Angeles in December 2013.
