What is "gadaria"

Gadaria '' Gadariya'', Gariya or Gadri are a shepherd caste found in North India. The caste name Gadaria is derived from the old Hindi word "Gadar", which means sheep. In southern Rajasthan, the Gadaria caste is known for herding sheep and goats.The Gujjars also have herds along with cattle and it is believed that in due course of time the Gujjars who remained shepherd became a different caste named Gadaria.
