g-force (with g from gravitational) is a measurement of the type of acceleration that causes weight. Despite the name, it is incorrect to consider g-force a fundamental force, as "g-force" (lower case character) is a type of acceleration that can be measured with an accelerometer. Since g-force accelerations indirectly produce weight, any g-force can be described as a "weight per unit mass" (see the synonym specific weight). When the g-force acceleration is produced by the surface of one object being pushed by the surface of another object, the reaction-force to this push produces an equal and opposite weight for every unit of an object's mass. The types of forces involved are transmitted through objects by interior mechanical stresses. The g-force acceleration (save for certain electromagnetic force influences) is the cause of an object's acceleration in relation to free-fall.
The g-force acceleration experienced by an object is due to the vector sum of all non-gravitational and non-electromagnetic forces acting on an object's freedom to move. In practice, as noted, these are surface-contact forces between objects. Such forces cause stresses and strains on objects, since they must be transmitted from an object surface. Because of these strains, large g-forces may be destructive.
Gravitation acting alone does not produce a g-force, even though g-forces are expressed in multiples of the acceleration of a standard gravity. Written by Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley and directed by Hoyt Yeatman, the film is the directorial debut of Hoyt Yeatman, whose earlier work includes contributions in the area of visual effects. It was released in the United States on July 24, 2009. G-Force is based on a story also by Hoyt Yeatman. The film was shown in competing 3-D technologies like Dolby 3D. This is also Jerry Bruckheimer's first 3-D film. The movie stars Zach Galifianakis, Bill Nighy, and Will Arnett and it features the voices of Sam Rockwell, Tracy Morgan, Penélope Cruz, Nicolas Cage, Steve Buscemi, and Jon Favreau. The film received generally negative reviews, with critics praising its action, but criticizing its plot and character development and it earned $292.8 million on a $150 million budget.

G-Force is a 1980 album by the namesake UK-American band led by Northern Irish guitarist, Gary Moore. Moore was on an American tour with Thin Lizzy and left the band mid-tour, moving to Los Angeles in an attempt to make a solo rock presence. With the opportunity to tour America in support of Van Halen, Moore recruited his one-time former Thin Lizzy bandmate, drummer Mark Nauseef ( Elf, the Ian Gillan Band) and vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes ( Trapeze, Deep Purple), dubbing the band "G-Force". However, several months into rehearsals, Hughes left the band after an alcohol-fuelled altercation with Moore, and was replaced with vocalist Willie Dee (born William Daffern; formerly of Captain Beyond and Pipedream) and Motown session bassist Tony Newton. The tour was a success, and the band went on to support Whitesnake on their 1980 Ready an' Willing tour. However, the band was short-lived, only producing the one eponymous album and re-mixed by Dennis Mackay. The album consisted of more conventional hard rock radio oriented music than Moore's previous efforts. The Newton and Dee-penned "Trust Your Lovin'" is a non-album track, only released on the 7" single "You". Soon after the album was released, G-Force disbanded and Moore joined Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer fame, on a new venture.
