Furthermore, when Lord Cavanagh had me installed aboard the fueler, he ordered me to protect his son Aric to the fullest of my capabilities.

Cavanagh made one phone call, to that CavTronics parasentient computer aboard the fueler they used.

He was not prepared for the thunderous blast that slammed the fueler back like a toy and threw him hard against his restraints.

The fueler had to be hidden behind a thick shield of atmosphere before they recovered and started firing.

It started down, arriving at the base of the fueler the same time she did.

Up close the fueler seemed smaller than she had expected it to be, especially considering that it was supposed to serve as both living quarters and mobile supply dump for sixteen men and their fighters.

So that was why the fueler was two days behind the tentative schedule her father had set for its arrival here.

Melinda had been right: stuff twelve more people in this fueler, and it was going to be real cozy.

He could only hope that getting the fueler into zero-gee would make all these cramped spaces feel larger.

With the fueler stuck on the surface instead, Quinn had warned him that such a scheme would be problematic at best.
