Felipe Augusto Ramos (born Conselheiro Lafaiete, Brazil ), better known as FTampa, is a Brazilian DJ and record producer.
Rock musician since childhood, he learned to play a guitar and keyboard in Lafaiete. When moving to Belo Horizonte, he is disheartened with the unfavorable music scene, and started working with marketing. In 2011, he was introduced to electronic music by a cousin, and was excited, especially not need a backing band. With the pseudonym Tampa, his nickname since childhood short stature, released their first EP and began to build his career. By going to the United States, he found that other DJ served by Tampa and added the initial of his name, becoming FTampa.
His musical style, a version of electro house called complextro, tried to enter the history in bands with more acoustic elements. FTampa began to stand out in the middle when the Dutch DJ Hardwell started playing the track "Kick it hard". Soon FTampa entered the repertoire of other famous DJs such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Afrojack and Tiesto, leading to invitation to international festivals like Burning Man (2013) and Rock in Rio Las Vegas (2015), and work with artists like Chris Brown and Paulo Ricardo. In 2016, FTampa made 12 monthly presentations with houses in BH and Los Angeles. He had songs included in commercials and soundtracks, and reached the top spot on Beatport site in 2015.
On July 24, 2016, Ftampa became the first Brazilian to perform at the main stage at Tomorrowland, a largest electronic world music festival in Belgium.
