Forres (; ) is a town and former royal burgh situated in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast, approximately east of Inverness and west of Elgin. Forres has been a winner of the Scotland in Bloom award on several occasions. There are many geographical and historical attractions nearby such as the River Findhorn, and there are many historical artifacts and monuments within the town itself.
Forres in Elginshire was a burgh constituency that elected one commissioner to the Parliament of Scotland and to the Convention of Estates.
After the Acts of Union 1707, Forres, Fortrose, Nairn and Inverness formed the Inverness district of burghs, returning one member between them to the House of Commons of Great Britain.
