Forbesganj is both a town and a municipality in the Araria District (formerly Purnia District before 1990) in the state of Bihar, India, situated at the border of Nepal and India. At present it is like a small city.

Forbesganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is an assembly constituency in Araria district in the Indian state of Bihar. In Bihar Legislative Assembly election, 2015, Forbesganj will be one of the 36 seats to have VVPAT enabled electronic voting machines.
