What is "fiware"

FIWARE or FI-WARE is a middleware platform, driven by the European Union, for the development and global deployment of applications for Future Internet. The API specification of FIWARE is open and royalty-free, where the involvement of users and developers is critical for this platform to become a standard and reusable solution. The objective of FIWARE is to facilitate a cost-effective creation and delivery of Future Internet applications and services in a variety of areas, including smart cities, sustainable transport, logistics, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability.
