What is "excessivism"

Excessivism is a global art movement which was first highlighted in 2015 by American artist and curator Kaloust Guedel with an exhibition titled Excessivist Initiative. At the same time it was reaffirmed by art critic and curator Shana Nys Dambrot in her essay titled "Excessivism: Irony, Imbalance and a New Rococo", published in the Huffington Post. Its early adopters go back to late 20th century.
