Epiornis \Ep`i*or"nis\, n. [NL.: cf. F. ['e]piornis. See [AE]pyornis.] (Zo["o]l.) One of the gigantic ostrichlike birds of the genus [AE]piornis, only recently extinct. Its remains have been found in Madagascar. [Written also [AE]pyornis.]
