What is "enterography"

Enterography \En`ter*og"ra*phy\, n. [Gr. 'e`nteron an intestine + -graphy.] (Anat.) A treatise upon, or description of, the intestines; enterology.

Enterography is radiography of the intestines, usually contrast radiography. Thus it may refer to:

• Upper gastrointestinal series
• Lower gastrointestinal series

It usually refers to an upper gastrointestinal series, in which sense it is distinguished from colonography, a lower gastrointestinal series (whereas the broader sense is hypernymous to colonography).
