Electrotonus \E`lec*trot"o*nus\, n. [NL., fr. combining form electro- + Gr. ? tension.] (Physiol.) The modified condition of a nerve, when a constant current of electricity passes through any part of it. See Anelectrotonus, and Catelectrotonus.
