Ekstraliga (speedway)

The Speedway Ekstraliga is the top division of motorcycle speedway in Poland. It has been called the "richest and most popular speedway league in the world", and attracts riders from all over the world. With the fall of communism in Poland in the 1990s and the resultant sharp increase in the value of the Złoty, the sport began to attract a wider range of star riders from other countries. The first of these was Denmark’s Hans Nielsen.

In 2000, the First Division was renamed Ekstraliga, and the number of teams was reduced. Since 2012 the official sponsor of Ekstraliga is the Polish energy company ENEA, which signed the financial contract for three consecutive seasons through 2014. The top division tournaments are named Enea Ekstraliga respectively.

Ekstraliga (women's football)

The Ekstraliga ( Polish for Extra League) is the top level women's football league of Poland.

The women's league startet out to play a champion in 1979-80. The first title holder was Czarni Sosnowiec in 1980. In 2005 the league was renamed Ekstraliga Kobiet. The winner of the league qualifies for the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The second highest league is 1.)Liga =1st Division(Level:2).

Record champion is Czarni Sosnowiec with 12 titles. The following teams are KS AZS Wrocław (8 titles), Checz Gdynia (4 titles), Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski (3 titles), Piastunki Gliwice, Zaglebianka Dąbrowa Górnicza, Pafawag Wrocław and RTP Unia Raciborz (2 titles each).

Ekstraliga (rugby)

Rugby Ekstraliga (Polish: Ekstraliga Polska w rugby union) is the premier league for rugby union in Poland.

The competition was founded in 1957 and currently consists of eight teams. For victory, a team gets four points, two points for a tie and zero for a loss. The first, historical rugby champion of Poland was the team of AZS-AWF Warsaw, which altogether holds the record of 15 championship titles. RC Arka Gdynia are the current national champions ( 2015). The team that finishes last is relegated to I liga Rugby.
