Dukkemann

"Dukkemann" ("Puppet man") was the Norwegian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967, performed in Norwegian by Kirsti Sparboe.

The song is a ballad, in which Sparboe compares life to being a marionette. She describes a puppet which appeared to take a somewhat cynical view of the world, only to have its string cut. Thus, she sings, her listeners should remember to grasp life with both hands, like the dancing puppets.

The song was performed thirteenth on the night, following Spain's Raphael with " Hablemos del amor" and preceding Monaco's Minouche Barelli with " Boum-Badaboum". At the close of voting, it had received 2 points, placing 14th in a field of 17.

It was succeeded as Norwegian representative at the 1968 contest by Odd Børre with " Stress".
