Usage examples of "doxie".

Merchants plied their wares along the quay and doxies strutted their stuff, their pox-scarred faces hidden behind a thick screen of powder.

The doxies were old and bored and tended to use their creds as down payments on powered wheelchairs.

Glims in paper holders shed light on hundreds of men and doxies and quite a few children scampering about.

There were island women in view, loose-hipped doxies in bright dresses and headclothes ready to provide comfort and pleasure for the poor English sailors, but the ship was not allowed Out of Discipline.

And as often as possible Kenyon let the ship Out of Discipline and allowed the doxies aboard to entertain the hands.

More beggars ran to join the seething crowd, and a few of the doxies joined in, elbowing their way to the front.

Blue Bull grew crowded as the appointed hour drew near, raucous with the laughter of doxies and drunken men.
