Wikipedia
Dorchester (electoral district)

Dorchester was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1867 to 1968.

It was created by the British North America Act, 1867, which preserved the existing electoral districts in Lower Canada at the time. In 1966, it was redistributed into the Beauce, Bellechasse and Lévis electoral districts.

Dorchester (UK Parliament constituency)

Dorchester was a parliamentary constituency centred on the town of Dorchester in Dorset. It returned two Members of Parliament to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1295 to 1868, when its representation was reduced one member.

The constituency was abolished by the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, after which Dorchester was placed in the new Dorset South constituency. In 1918 it was transferred to Dorset West, where it has remained since.

Dorchester

Dorchester may refer to:

Dorchester (PAT station)

Dorchester is a station on the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail network, located in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The street level stop was added to the route to serve the nearby Dorchester Apartment complex, for which the stop was named. A variety of apartment blocks have been located near the stop, as part of a transit village model designed to encourage public transit as the primary form of transportation for residents.

Dorchester (CTA station)

Dorchester was a station on the Jackson Park branch of the Chicago "L". The station opened on April 23, 1893 and closed on January 13, 1973, as part of a group of budget-related CTA station closings. Dorchester was scheduled to be the new terminal of the Jackson Park Branch, but the CTA decided to make Cottage Grove the new terminal, because the Reverend Arthur Brazier and other Woodlawn residents said the 'L' structure over East 63rd street would further blight Woodlawn and prevent redevelopment.

Dorchester (provincial electoral district)

Dorchester was a provincial electoral district in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of the province of Quebec, Canada.

It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). Its final election was in 1970. It disappeared in the 1973 election and its successor electoral districts were Bellechasse, Beauce-Nord, and Beauce-Sud.
