Dolerite \Dol"er*ite\, n. [Gr. dolero`s deceptive, because it was easily confounded with diorite.] (Petrography)

  1. A dark, crystalline, igneous rock, chiefly pyroxene with labradorite.

  2. Coarse-grained basalt.
