Do Not Disturb is the debut album from the dance, pop singer- songwriter Joanne Accom released in 2001. It was a work in progress for 2 and a half years before it was released.
Regarding the album Joanne stated:
"Do Not Disturb" is a song recorded by English girl group Bananarama. It was written and produced by the production duo of Steve Jolley and Tony Swain. Originally released as a stand-alone single in 1985, the track was later added to Bananarama's third album True Confessions which was issued by London Records a year later. "Do Not Disturb" was released in the UK, Australia, Germany and Japan but only charted in the UK.
Bananarama did not like the song. Group member Keren Woodward later said of the True Confessions album, "It is all our ideas, it is what we wanted to sound like and sing about. Except 'Do Not Disturb' which Swain and Jolley wrote and which we don't think is very good. Thats why there's eleven songs on the LP instead of ten". When released, "Do Not Disturb" was a mid-charting single, peaking at number thirty-one.
The song was also issued as 3 separate shaped picture discs, each featuring a member of the group, which came with a plinth to put them on display.
The Do Not Disturb or (DND) function on most PBX or PABX systems prevents calls from ringing on an extension for which DND is activated. Some Do Not Disturb (DND) attributes include directing the call to a preassigned extension (like a secretary or assistant), busy signal, DND signal, or recorded message generated by the telephone switch. Some switches allow the call to go through to the extension but restrict the response to a visual indication. Some PBX systems allow the assignment of DND circumvention codes to supervisors.
The implementation of this feature is vendor-specific. In some cases, the ringer just does not ring and the called party is thus not alerted. Usually, though, the phone just acts as being busy. Depending on the infrastructure, the caller may end up on the called party's voice mailbox, sometimes after a certain delay.
Some special configurations combine DND with other features like call forwarding, where calls to a party with DND on are forwarded to another phone.
