DirectoryBug LLC also offers customers tools, including access to the DirectoryBug scanner, which cross-checks business information with information found in over 100 leading online business directories. In 2014, DirectoryBug LLC founder Ben Roland discovered a method for checking Google Places penalties. DirectoryBug used this method for over half a year before introducing it to the public. Less than two months later, Google removed the ability to check for Google Places penalties using this process.
