Dimapur-Chumukedima

Dimapur-Chumukedima (Pron:/ˌdɪməpʊə ˈtʃʊmʊkədɪmə/) refers to the urban hub centred on Dimapur with suburbs stretching all along the NH 39 from Dimapur up to Chumukedima. It is located in Dimapur district of Nagaland. Chumukedima is the district headquarters of Dimapur district while Dimapur has emerged as the main commercial centre of Nagaland.

The last two decades have seen a population boom of Dimapur and continuous settlements have spilled out towards Chumukedima. In fact Dimapur's population has more than tripled over the last 20 years and is one of the fastest growing urban centre in India. According to 2001 census, Dimapur's population stands at 108,000 while Dimapur-Chumukedima population is around 230,106. Today, it is the largest urban hub in Nagaland.
