What is "dendroplex"

Dendroplex is a genus of bird in the woodcreeper subfamily ( Dendrocolaptinae). It was long merged into Xiphorhynchus, but its distinctness was recently validated.

It contains the following species:

• Straight-billed woodcreeper, Dendroplex picus
• Zimmer's woodcreeper, Dendroplex kienerii - formerly Xiphorhynchus necopinus
